The Life of William Glenn Belden

William (“Bill”) Glenn Belden, Sr., 65, of Olathe, Kansas, died Monday, November 4, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri, from a brief illness. He was born on May 12, 1948, in Jewell, Kansas, to the late Glenn Augustus Belden and the late Margaret Adalin (Duff) Belden. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1971 with a degree in pharmacy. For more than 40 years, William worked as a pharmacist, pharmacy manager and small business owner. 


William was a nationally ranked trap and skeet shooter, winning dozens of state, national and international competitions. He was featured on the cover of a 1966 issue of the magazine Guns and Ammo, and was selected to be a member of the Honor Squad Trap Team. William also was a member of Jimmy Robinson’s Sports Afield All-American Trap Team in the mid-1960s.


He is survived by his wife, Karen Jane Belden; children William Glenn Belden, Jr., and Kris Belden-Adams, son-in-law John Adams, Jr., and two grandchildren, Lily Belden Adams and Avery Leighton Adams.
