Mrs. Beasley Dead.
One of. the largest funerals Olathe has seen for some time was held from the colored Baptist church at eleven a. m. Sunday morning. The funeral was that of Mrs. Katie Beasley, colored, who fell dead on Tuesday evening March 9th, 1915 of heart failure. Deceased was a widow of fifty-five. A number of relatives from Kansas City attended the funeral and about seventy-five dollars worth of the most beautiful flowers we have ever seen marked the respect in which deceased was held. Burial was made in the Olathe cemetery. Mrs. Beasley was born in Ray County, Mo. but has been a resident of Olathe for many years.
