The Life of Robert E Baker

Robert E. Baker was born January 17, 1848, at Cincinnatti, Ohio. He passed away Sunday, November 15, 1931, at Olathe, Kansas, aged 83 years 9 months and 28 days. 

He came to Johnson County, Kansas, with his parents when a young man and located on a farm near Stilwell, Kansas, where he remained until 1884, when he moved to Olathe, Kansas, where he made his home until his death.

He was united in marriage to Virginina Huggins in 1872. To this union two children were born, William E. Baker, who passed away October 30, 1922 and Amanda Etta. 

He united with the Baptist church when a young man. 

He leaves to mourn his loss one daughter, Amanda Etta French of Kansas City, Kansas, and one grand-son, Leland M. Baker, of Kansas City, Missouri, and a host of friends. 

Funeral services were held Monday, November 16, 1931, at 2:00 p.m. at the Olathe Funeral Home conducted by Rev. O.L. Woods of the Baptist Church. Burial Olathe cemetery. W.L. Frye and Sons in charge. 

The singers were: Miss Dollie Evans, Mrs. George Perkins and Rev. O. L. Woods, accompanied by Miss Harsh. 

Pallbearers: Mr. John Chapman, Mr. Ed Rebsamen, Mr. Ross Hundley, Mr. Gus Moll, Mr. Dave Bookout and Mr. Mark Cooper.
