Thos. Adair

Thos. Adair was born in Highland county, Ohio, November 28, 1824, and died at his residence one mile northeast of Olathe, May 5,-1913, aged 88 years. He was one of the oldest settlers, having come to Kansas in 1857.

In June 1861 he enlisted in the Union army and served throughout the war. He was married to Mary Phelps of Coles count- Illinois in 1868. Thos. Adair was one of the most highly respected citizens of Johnson county. He was a good neighbor, a kind and devoted husband and father and leaves many friends besides a wife and three daughters. . The funeral was from the family residence, Thursday afternoon, May 8. Interment in Olathe cemetery. Another name is stricken from the ever lessening roll of our old settlers, few of us will live as long or as well, and fewer yet will the Angel of Death greet with such a loving touch.
