MR. AND MRS. ADAIR DEAD

We are called upon this week to give a sad and most unusual death report. A brief account of the sudden illness of Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Adair of Rosedale, formerly of Olathe, was given in last week's Mirror, but at that time neither was thought to be in eo Eerions a condition. They had both been taken down with pneumonia, Mr. Adair on the 13th and Mrs. Adair on the 14th inst , and the message last Thursday evening announcing the death of the former came as a great surprise, which was more than doubled twenty four hours later when another message announced the death df Mrs. Adair. Both bodies were brought to Olathe Sunday and the funeral, which was conducted from the First Presbvterian church in the afternoon was the largest attended in Olathe in years. Many who went to the church through the pouring rain were turned away, not being able to find even standing room. Owing to the illness of Rev. McNutt, Rev. Goudy of the Congregational church conducted the service.

Mr. E. T. Adair and Miss Maggie Williams were married December 24, 1885. To this union four children were born, three of whom, two girls and one boy, are still living. Until about five years ago when they moved to Rosedale, Mr. and Mrs. Adair made their Home in Olathe,  Mr. Adair being for a number of years engaged in the wholesale hay and coal business and he also handled groceries and meat. They were highly respected citizens. Mrs. Adair was a daughter to R. V. Williams living east of Olathe. At the time of her death she was forty years of age and her husband forty-one. Each were sick nine days. Frank and Tom Adair of this county are uncles of E. T. Adair deceased. At the time of his death Mr. Adair was engaged in the hay and grain commission business in Kansas City. Mrs. McCoy, a cousin of the children, will care for them in Rosedale until their school closes.
