The Life of Clarence F Abell Sr

CLARENCE F. ABELL, SR., age 95, passed away November 6, 2012 in Olathe, KS. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 

1:00pm at First Baptist Church of Olathe, where the family will receive friends an hour prior to service time. Memorial contributions are suggested to First Baptist Church of Olathe. 

Clarence was born August 1, 1917 in Gardner, KS to George and Mollie Abell. He served our country in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sgt. He was employed with SBC (formerly Southwestern Bell) for over 42 years. Clarence was married to Maxine Roberts on July 29, 1939 in Olathe, KS, and were both active members of First Baptist Church of Olathe, with Clarence serving as a deacon and trustee. Clarence was also a member of the Earl Collier American Legion Post #153. 

Surviving are his children Clarence F. Abell, Jr. and his wife, Carol, Karen Fitzgerald and husband Philip, grandchildren Melissa Abrams and husband Tod, Robert Morgan and wife Tammy, David Abell and his wife Nora, Denise Hawkins and husband Ken, great-grandchildren, Jennifer Stephens, Jacob Stephens, Nathan Abrams, Stephanie Benjamin, Taylor Morgan, Brent Hawkins, Brandon Hawkins and Parker Abell, and one great-great-grandchild, Alyssa Rosales-Stephens. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, and his sister Lorena Nave, brother Glen Abell, grand-daughter Melinda Morgan and great-grandson Austin Hawkins.
