The Life of DONALD WAYLAND LUMADUE

Donald Lumadue, 81, passed away on October 23, 2015. He was born in Des Moines on August 15, 1934, to Elmer and Leona Lumadue.

Donald worked for the City of Des Moines for many years, retiring in 1996. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed fishing, playing pool, watching women’s sports and the University of Iowa athletics. Donald loved spending time with his family and was always laughing. He also loved animals, especially his cat Midnight.

Donald is survived by his children, Liz Shore, Kim Lumadue, and Craig Lumadue; sisters, Valerie Dally and Beverly Rumley; brothers, Lionel (Alice) Lumadue and Ronnie Lumadue; grandchildren, Ryan Armstrong, James Lumadue, and Danielle (Sean) McCann; great-grandchildren, MaKenzie Armstrong, Rylan Armstrong, Casey Lumadue, Ryan Lumadue, Jake Lumadue and Alex Lumadue. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vena; and 3 brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Croix Hospice in loving memory of Donald.
