The Life of Russell M Stevens, Jr

 
 
Services for Russell M. Stevens, Jr., 83, of Willoughby, will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at Shoregate United Methodist Church, 30500 Bayridge Boulevard, Willowick. The Rev. Jon D. Wilterdink will officiate at the service.
Russ passed away Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at Hospice House in Cleveland.
Born Oct. 13, 1931, in Ironwood, Mich., he has lived in Willoughby for the past 51 years.
He was a graduate of the former Willoughby Union High School, class of 1949 and enjoyed reuniting with his fellow ''49ers. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and then graduated from the former Western Reserve University class of 1959. Russ loved spending time with his family, enjoyed animals of all kinds, golfing, gardening, playing pool and bowling.
Russ was employed by the Department of Defense for 31 years.
Survivors are his wife of 54 years, Patricia (Kusmer) Stevens; daughters, Sheryl (Mark) Cooper of Medina, Stacey Hadden of Euclid, Suzanne (Patrick) Scully of Leroy Twp. and Karen (John) Lewins of Concord Twp. and grandchildren, Clay, Jessica, Cole, Shae, Julia, Nate and Cale. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell, Sr. and Viola Stevens and brothers, William and Samuel Stevens.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home,  Willoughby.
Private family burial will be at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Twp.
