The Life of CHARLOTTE JEAN APPLEBY
Charlotte Appleby, 70, made the transition from this life to life everlasting on October 23, 2008 with the support of her family after a four year battle with cancer. Charlotte was born on September 8, 1938 in Fort Madison, Iowa. She spent her retirement years working at Saylorville Lake.
She enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Her husband James and father, Paul Rippenkroeger, preceded her in death. Charlotte will be missed by her mother, Juanita Rippenkroeger of Urbandale; Jean''s devoted companion Don Huisman of Saylorville Lake; daughter, Ginger (Cliff) Heckman of Urbandale; sons, Jim (Pam) Appleby of Des Moines and Jay (Chris) Appleby of Ankeny; grandchildren, Heather (Jon) Oosterhuis, Hannah Heckman, Holly Heckman, Scott (Breanne) Appleby, Todd (Stephanie) Appleby, Mindy (Kenny) Madison, Jeremy Powell, Dustin (Jodie) Callas; and seven great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the The Bridge Reformed Church (10025 NW 62nd Ave. Johnston)
Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Health Home Hospice of the American Cancer Society.
