The Life of ROBERT ERNEST BOELLING

Robert Ernest Boelling passed away at his home in Des Moines on July 18, 2015, at the age of 67. He was born June 8, 1948, in Villisca, Iowa, to Ernest and Helen Boelling.

Robert served in the United States Navy from 1966-1969. He married Marta Ramos on December 23, 1985.

Robert worked at John Deere as a tool and die maker, retiring in 2014 after 40 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed building and flying radio controlled airplanes, and playing cribbage, but above all, he loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren any chance he had.

Robert is survived by his wife, Marta; children, Craig Boelling of Cumming, Bradley Boelling of Arlington, TX, and Tiffany (Wade) Wych of Grimes; grandchildren, Chase Boelling, Alexis Boelling, Callie, Bailey, and Addison Wych; siblings, James (Karen) Boelling of Ankeny, Melinda (Dean) Martin of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA, and Thomas Boelling of Des Moines; as well as a niece and nephew, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Friday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
