The Life of LORA LUCILLE BAUER
Lora Lucille Bauer, 86, passed away June 29, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 6, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 5 followed by a rosary at Iles Grandview Park Chapel.
Lucille was born in Davis City, Iowa, moved to West Des Moines and graduated from Valley High School. On January 26, 1952 she was united in marriage to Roger L. Bauer, Sr. and they raised their family in Berwick. Lucille worked at Meredith Publishing Company for a few years and worked alongside her husband, Roger in their family business, Sunny Brook Mobile Home Park. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She had a passion for books, and when she was able she spent many years gardening and feeding the birds.
She is survived by her children; Roger L. Bauer Jr., son, Grant; Donna M. Bauer, son Hank and daughter, Michaela (deceased); Lora A. Donahoe, sons, Nicholas, Kyle and Kaleb; and Michael C. Bauer and grand dog, Money; sister, Betty Barth and brother, Bob Boeger. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Boeger; mother, Josephine Blake and step father, Oral Blake; her husband, Roger, Sr.; daughter, Teresa Jo Bauer; son, Jeffrey J. Bauer; sister, Judy Richardson and a brother, Jake Blake.
