The Life of ROBERT ERNEST WALDNER

Robert Waldner, 83, passed away Monday, June 15, 2015 at the VA Community Living Center from complications of metastasized sarcoma.

Bob was a 1950 North High grad where he played first chair trumpet all four years. He served in the Army in Korea from 1952-1953 and was a cabinetmaker by trade. He was also very knowledgeable in all electronics and was the neighborhood TV repairman. He was well-read and well-versed on many subjects.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto E. and Margaret Emily (Couch) Waldner, and his wife, Audrey Lane Waldner.

Bob is survived by his cousins, Cheryl (Larry) Cunningham, Cari Cunningham, Christie (Chris) Coffin, Chloe and Isabelle Coffin, and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines with burial following at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation with family present will be one hour prior to the service.

In loving memory of Bob, memorial contributions may be made to the VA Community Living Center in Des Moines.
