The Life of Marina Muromzew Koniuszewsky

Marina Koniuszewsky, age 83, of Seymour, died peacefully on May 8, 2015 at the Shady Knoll Health Care Center, Seymour. Born in Yugoslavia on April 23, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Ludmilia Hofle Muromzew and studied opera in Munich, Germany. Mrs. Koniuszewsky immigrated to the U.S. in 1952 and lived in the “Russian Colony” of Oxford for several years before moving to Seymour. She worked as a seamstress, hand crafting fine dresses and wedding gowns for many years, until the time of her retirement. Mrs. Koniuszewsky enjoyed tending to her house plants where they flourished under the care of her green thumb. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Irene Judd and her husband, Edward of ME, a son, Nicholas Koniuszewsky of Derby; cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Koniuszewsky of Derby, Paul Michael Koniuszewsky of Naugatuck, Gregory Judd of ME, Alexandra Judd of ME and Christopher Judd of DE; as well as four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 10:30 AM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
