I didn't get to see much of grandpa growing up but I always enjoyed his surprise visits at my grandparents. I went to visit some friends one year in minnesota and looked up grandpa in the phone book. Come to find out they lived only a block away from grandpa. Well they had recently moved so I didn't get to surprise him. I loved that he drove a Cadillac I used to think that was so awesome and i remember his big belt buckles...and that I would be that hip at that age some day. I am so so grateful he came home even though it was a short time im blessed to have gotten that. and thankful we were able to spend time with him to make more memories that would never had been possible if he didn't come back to Iowa. im glad he was able to see my girls and they could get to know their great- great- grandpa a little more. I enjoyed taking the girls to the nursing home for Halloween and it was so nice to be all together for thanksgiving there also! Love, Jennifer kilby
