Louise E. Lewis made her transition May 4, 2015.

Born January 29, 1913 in Jefferson, Alabama to the late Tommy and Lennie Green Ellis, she married Preston Lewis, Sr. In 1943, the family moved from Alabama to Akron. She was a member of the Wesley Temple AME Zion Church for 72 years.

She retired from the Summit County Children''s Services and later worked as an in-home care giver. She loved cooking, baking, sewing, playing piano and reading her Bible.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Lessie, Arabelle, Dorothy and Thelma; brothers, Atlas, Howard and Willard; also preceded in death by daughters, Marilyn Parson, Meria Hammett, Delores Glenn, Dorothy Lucas and Jacquelyn Brown; and sons, William Edward and Joe Lewis.

She leaves behind, oldest son, Preston (Rose) Lewis, Jr., and Lugretha Watkins; grandson, Cornelius (Charlene) Parson and granddaughter, Deborah Hammett (Turner). She also leaves 27 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren, 80 great-great-grandchildren and 11 ½ great-great-great-grandchildren.

Service will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 12 p.m. at the Wesley Temple AME Zion Church, 104 N. Prospect St., Akron, Ohio 44304. Friends may call at the church one hour before service, Rev. Dr. Charles Tyler, Sr. eulogizing. Interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 780 Bulger St., Akron, Ohio 44306.
