The Life of TERRY EUGENE COCKERHAM

Terry “T.C.” Cockerham, 67, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 6, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Terry proudly served his country as an Army veteran during the Vietnam War. He was a dedicated and hard worker, employed for the USPS for 40 years. Terry made sure to be at work two hours early every day to get “his chair” where he and his buddies would play cards before the day started. He lived, breathed, and died Iowa Hawkeyes and enjoyed golfing and drinking his favorite beer, Old Milwaukee. Above all, Terry’s greatest passion in life was his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Dixie Richards; children, Kimberly Cockerham (Troy) Schell, Teddy (Amanda) Cockerham, and Cody (Jon) Trigg; step-children, Jack Richards and Brandy Richards (Don) Cooper; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, Joe Jennings; Bob Jennings, Art Cockerham, and Rory Cockerham. Terry was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 8, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 9th at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
