Paulina Sorensen, 84, passed away Friday, February 22, 2013.
Funeral services will be at Brooks Funeral Care, 7975 University Blvd. in Clive at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 1 with burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 28 at the funeral home.
Paulina enjoyed all types of crafts, collecting dolls, yodeling and spending her days at the West Des Moines Senior Center. She loved people and being involved in the community but above all, she loved her family. Paulina will be remembered as a warm and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her memory will be cherished by her daughters, Donna (Herbert) Hartman, Debra (David) Dolan, Diane Carter (Mark Wellborn) and Doreen Tratchel (Troy Sorenson); grandchildren, John Baker, Paula Baker, Richard Baker, Stephen Barber, Jr., Shane Barber, Melanie Handy, Ashley Dolan, Greg Leichliter, Jesse Tratchel, Crystal Grove, Caleb Wellborn, Chad Wellborn and April Lafary; 19 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and one brother, Carl Robb of CA.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Glen Richard "Dick" Tratchel; second husband, James "Jim" Sorensen; step-daughter, Kirstin Ayres; great-granddaughter, Cory Rae Templeton; her parents, Charles and Ermine Robb and brother, Jay Robb.
