The Life of Gary Kichar

Gary Kichar, age 61, of Seymour, husband to Anne Schachter, passed away April 4, 2015. He was born June 22, 1953 in Derby. He was a patrol officer both in Ansonia and with the Seymour P.D. He served with the U.S. Navy Seabees and later became a career soldier in the Army, retiring with the rank of Sergeant 1st Class with the Army Reserves. He was a member and Past Commander of The American Legion Post 174 in Oxford. He was also a member of the Ansonia Rod& Gun Club. He is survived by his sons Franklin, Clifford, Gary, Peter & Richard and daughter Laura, his brother George and sister Ann, his grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Clifford & Jo Anderson, mother Ann, and brothers Michael, Steven & Martin. Funeral services will be held on Friday April 10th at 11:00 a.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, CT. (www.jenkinskingfh.com) Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
