The Life of LAURENCE DONALD RICHARDS
Laurence Richards, 77, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines.
Memorial services will be 9:30 am on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at New Hope Assembly of God Church in Urbandale. Burial will be in the Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-7 pm at Grandview Park Funeral Home.
Laurence was born in Des Moines on January 30, 1938 to Roland and Viola Richards. He lived all his life in the Des Moines area and served in the Army National guard for 10 years. Laurence was owner-operator of Larry''s handyman service for over 30 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Leann (Norman) Clark; sons, Ronald, Cody (Amanda) and Laurence (Karen Fleming); his companion, Judy Carney; a step-daughter, Rhonda Murillo; 12 grandchildren, Joey Clark, Misty Clark, Micah Richards, Anthony Clark, Jaiden Richards, Cody Richards, Samuel Richards, Kyle Richards, Emma Richards, Riley Richards, Julia Schrader and Hannah Tomlinson; 10 great-grandchildren; Makalah Clark, Amita Clark, Alex McCoy, Chantal McCoy Mackie Clark, Sariya Richards, Keiton Schrader, Kaliyah Wilder, Kaison Wilder, and Ta Shawn Douglas.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Taylor Hospice House.
