The Life of FLORENCE IRENE HARTMAN

Florence Hartman, 97, died April 3, 2015, in Polk City, Iowa. She was born January 6, 1918 to Dena and Martin Peterson, in Des Moines, Iowa.

She graduated from North High School in 1936 and was employed by North Western Bell for 30 years. She was a member of Highland Park Christian Church for over 80 years, and was also a member and past president of Highland Park American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a volunteer at many different places.

She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Theisen of Oro Valley, Arizona; her sister, Virginia Wallace; two step daughters; two grandchildren, Mike Theisen (Elizabeth) and Martin Theisen (Carolyn); two great grandchildren, Colton and Hannah; several step grand and great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Arthur Noel, and David Hartman; her sister, Alice Cook; brother Robert Peterson, son-in-law John Theisen, and brother-in-law, Bob Wallace.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00, Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Highland Park Christian Church with a visitation and luncheon to follow. There will be a private burial.

The family would like to thank the staff at Polk City Care Center and Saint Jude Hospice for the special care that they provided. Memorial Contributions may be made to Highland Park Christian Church in loving memory of Florence.
