The Life of KEITH WARREN OVERTON
Keith Warren Overton, 91, passed away on March 22, 2015, at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born September 14, 1923, to Merrill and Nellie Overton in Chariton, Iowa.
Keith served in the National Guard for 17 years. He retired from Bob Brown Chevrolet after many years of dedicated service. Keith was a longtime member of Highland Park Lutheran Church and the Masonic Auburn Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, visiting the Highland Park Senior Center, and playing the drums.
Keith is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Overton; children, Dixie (Tom) Bergsma, Linda (Bill) Cowan, Keith D. Overton, and Karla Overton; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Ilene (Richard) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eva Mae; second wife, Betty Anne; infant daughter, Sarah; granddaughter, Lisa Bergsma; great-granddaughter, Erin Finer; brothers, Charles, Clifford, and Clement; and sister, Carolyn.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Highland Park Lutheran Church, 147 E. Euclid Avenue in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
