The Life of Cecile Marie Vincent

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in St. Jules Catholic Church for Cecile Marie "Toot" Champagne Vincent, 90, who passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at The Crossing Hospice & Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA

Reverend Daniel Edwards, Pastor of St. Jules Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass.

Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Cecile, also known with love by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as Maw Maw, was a kind and giving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mother-in-law. Her life revolved around her husband John, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and her church and faith. She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters through her church, St. Jules. She enjoyed most of all, visiting with family and extended family. She shared with her loving mother Celestine a kind and loving heart and a soul full of the joy of her family.

Cecile lived in her home with her son Scott for 8 years after loving husband John''s departure and then for 3 years with her son Karl. She left home in Lafayette in July 2012 and her care was shared by her three sons Bill, Scott and Ted and their families in Prairieville, Lafayette and Broussard. During that time she was able to have extended visits with her two daughters Sonia and Vickie and their families in Utah and New Mexico. She left behind wonderful memories for all of her family and extended family of her last years. Though she will be sorely missed, she will be remembered by all who knew her for the strength and warmth of her heart and for her love of all things family.

Cecile, a resident of Lafayette, LA was the daughter of the late Rene'' Champagne and the former Celestine Melancon.

She is survived by her six children, Ted Vincent and wife Cynthia, Bill Vincent and wife Lynn, Karl Vincent, Scott Vincent and wife Paige, Sonia Page and husband Doug and Vickie Kwiecinski and husband Daniel, her eight grandchildren, Allison, Sean, Sarah, Carrie, Julia, Dylan, Jarek and Koby, two great grandchildren, Alana & Britney, and another one on the way and her brother, Louis Champagne, and with honor her nephew Jessie Champagne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of forty five years, John J Vincent, her siblings, Lucy Champagne, Julie Cormier, Lucette Broussard, Theresa Daspit, Richard Champagne and A.J. "Bon" Champagne.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand Drive on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Tuesday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 9:00 am until the time of service.

Pallbearers will be Sean Vincent, Dylan Vincent, Hank Cobb, Kevin Boutte, Scott Vincent, Ted Vincent
and Bill Vincent. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jessie Champagne.

The family expresses their thanks and gratitude to her caregivers, her sons, Ted and wife Cindy, Bill and wife Lynn, and Scott and wife Paige, who provided loving care to Cecile for the last few years.

Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA is in charge of funeral arrangements.
