Penny Lynn Monohon, 63, passed away in dignity and peace on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at her home in Indianola after a courageous battle with Lyme disease and cancer. She was born Penny Worthington in Knoxville, Iowa on July 7, 1951.
Penny is survived by her husband of 43 years, Michael; daughter, Jennifer (fiancé Tyson Reynoldson); son, Phillip (Nicole); brothers, Jim and David Worthington; sister, Kathleen Hayes; grandchildren, Jaelynn Myers, Clayton Myers, Michael Monohon II; and beloved nieces and nephews. Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and MaryBelle Worthington; sister, Jacqueline; and brother, Kevin.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at Hamilton''s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be Saturday, March 21 at 11:00 a.m., also at Hamilton''s, followed by interment at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.In her memory, she requests that you treat one another with love and kindness.
