The Life of JOHN JUNIOR HUNT
John J. Hunt, 90, passed away March 14, 2015. He was born to John and Lois Hunt on December 17, 1924, in Adams County, Iowa.
John served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from Meredith Corporation as a pressman after many years of dedicated service.
John and his wife, Vera, raised their family in Des Moines and lived in Highland Park for 60 years. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and also a 60 year member of All Saints Catholic Church in Des Moines. John enjoyed dinner clubs, square dancing, golfing, and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
John is survived by his wife of 68 years, Vera Hunt; children, John (Bonny) Hunt and Barbara (Randall) Ferguson; grandchildren, Landon (Nicole) Ferguson, Collin Ferguson, and Lauren Ferguson; sister, Marjorie Wilson; and a host of other family and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Gooding and Verlee Chihak.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Avenue, with visitation beginning one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.
