The Life of Emily Klik Chuckta

Emily R. Chuckta, age 84, of Shelton, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Griffin Hospital. She was the devoted wife of Stephen Chuckta Sr. for 63 years. Emily was born in Ansonia on September 21, 1930, daughter of the late Stanislaw and Honorata Krajewski Klik. She moved to Shelton in 1950, where she lived the rest of her life.

Emily worked alongside her husband Stephen in their family business for over 50 years. She was a self-effacing and giving person who devoted her life to her children and grandchildren, always putting their needs ahead of her own.

She is the beloved mother of Stephen Chuckta Jr. and his wife Patty Ann; Susan Chuckta Smith and her husband Ron; and David Alan Chuckta and his wife Lori. She will be fondly remembered by her four cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, Tiffany, and Natalie, and her sister-in-law Helen Bowolick. She was predeceased by brothers, Walter, Myron, Joseph, and Mitchell, and sisters, Lillian, Aneli and Helen.

The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road in Shelton, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements, which are private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Stephen and Emily R.
