87 of Jackson Township, passed away Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015. He was born in New Philadelphia, Ohio May 6, 1927 and was the son of the late Elmer and Emma (Preece) Winkler. Glen was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Yellow Freight where he was a driver. He was a member of St. Jacob''s Lutheran Church. He loved gardening, woodworking, tinkering, but above all, his family. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Jane A. Winkler in 2009; his brothers, Robert, Harold and Delbert Winkler; and his sister, Kathryn Byers. He is survived by his children, Leanne Johnson, Kelley Betz, Gay Honaker; and her husband, Ron and Scott Winkler and his wife, Laura; nine grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of Glen Winkler will take place Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Jacob''s Lutheran Church with Rev. Lynn Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
