The Life of FLOYBELLE ALMS
Floybelle "Mer" Alms, daughter of Marvin R. Finchum and Bessie E. (Woolsoncroft) Finchum was born October 21, 1921 in El Dara, IL, and passed from this life Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 93 years of age.
She received her education at Des Moines East High School. She was united in marriage to Leonard Paul Alms on July 16, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Mer has lived in the Clarke County area since 1959, managing the Country Platter in Osceola for 22 years. She was a member of the Osceola United Methodist Church.
Those relatives who preceded Mer in death were her parents; husband, Leonard; brothers, Billy Finchum, John Finchum; sisters, Helen Finchum, Lorene Osborne; grandsons, Lee Olson and Jerade Redden.
Mer leaves to cherish here memory, daughter, Nancy Olson of Osceola, IA; son, Terry Redden of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Lex (Katie) Olson, of Visalia, CA; Jerome Redden and Jermane Redden both of Des Moines, IA, Jeakobe (Brandi) Redden of Arlington, VA; great-grandchildren, Arlo, Flyn, Greer, Jennifer, Kaitlyn, Shyna; as well as other relatives and many friends.
Per her wishes, Mer was cremated.
Interment will be in the Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
