The Life of LARREY CHARLES PLUMB
Larrey Charles Plumb, 74, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014 at his home in Des Moines. Larrey was born April 21, 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Charles and LaVonna Carroll Plumb. He graduated from East High School in 1959 and retired from Armstrong Tire & Rubber in 1988.
He is survived by his daughters, June Marie (Lee) Evans, Kelly Ann (Mark) Jones, and Malinda Ray Plumb; nine granddaughters, Amy (Tony) Lincoln, Amanda (Fonda) McGhghy, Amber Evans (Carlos Welch), Amanda Koopman, Stephanie Jones, Maranda Plumb (Chad Reeves), Kasey (Ethan) Kouri, Codye Lazear, and Emily “Pumpkin Face” Plumb; 15 great-grandchildren, Kalob, Sean, Serenity, Elizabeth, Avery, Collin, Kenzie, Siri, Katelyn, Willa, Samuel, Alexis, Bradley, Christopher, and Kayge; and sister, Sheryle Ray Plumb. Larrey was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Terry and sister-in-law, Diane Plumb; and his best friend, Timberly.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 17, also at the funeral home; cremation will follow. Burial of cremated remains will take place at a later date.
