The Life of EDITH LUCILLE ESTRADA

Lucille Estrada, 97, passed away January 11, 2015, at Kennybrook Village in Grimes, Iowa. She was born October 5, 1917, in Linden, Iowa, the daughter of Orval and Edith Burnham.

Lucille and her sister, Norma, moved to Des Moines in 1942 where she worked at Blue Willow Café and Mercy Medical Center for many years. She enjoyed shopping and surrounding herself with loved ones. Above all else, she cherished her family and their time spent together.

Lucille is survived by her husband, Robert Estrada and his children, Chuck (Mary) Estrada, Kirk Estrada, and Theresa Bahniuk; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Fred Bobenhouse; nieces and nephews, Marilyn Maddick, Lloyd (Dorothy) Gibson, Robert (Maribee) Burnham, Sheryl (Jim) Wright, Steven (Nancy Lavender) Bobenhouse, and Johanna Bobenhouse; many great nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and beloved friends.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League in memory of Lucille.
