The Life of Agnes Nagy Karlak

Agnes Elizabeth Nagy Karlak, age 93 of Southbury, entered into rest on Tuesday December 23, 2014. She was the devoted wife of the late John J. Karlak.
Mrs. Karlak was born in Shelton on May 28, 1921 daughter of the late John and Anna (Majoras) Nagy. She grew up in Shelton and graduated from Shelton High School. Agnes married John on June 3, 1944, and they made their home in Seymour. When she was younger she crowed the Blessed Mother at St. Michael’s Church in Derby. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and great aunt, whose life was devoted to taking care of her family, and home.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter and her husband, Betty and Steven Stohl of Southbury, and her son and his wife, John and Terri Karlak of Naugatuck. She will be lovingly missed by her grandchildren Courtney and John Mamone, Nicholas Karlak, and Christopher Karlak. She will be fondly missed by her great grandson, Ethan Mamone, who called her Ba-Ba, a sister Eleanor Bak, who was very special to her. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Katie Karlak, who was the light of her life, a niece, Ellie Bak, a great niece, Rebecca Karlak, brothers, John and Frank Nagy, and her sister, Mary Valabek. 
Friends may greet her family on Monday from 5 to 8 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton. On Tuesday her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in st. Michael’s Church Derby. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery Ansonia. At the request of her family in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Season Hospice ,1579 Straits Turnpike, Unit 1E, Middlebury, CT 06762.
