The Life of FORREST ALLEN WHITE

Forrest Allen "Frostie" White, 73, died Friday, December 12, 2014, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 18, at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.

Frostie was born April 13, 1941, in Des Moines to Vincent and Helen (Nelson) White. He graduated from Bondurant High school and attended Grandview College for a year before being drafted into the Army in 1963 during the Vietnam War. He served from 1963-1965. After his military service, Frostie returned home where he met, and was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Mary Louise Ramirez on January 22, 1967, in Las Vegas. Frostie worked at SCA, which is now known as Waste Management of Iowa where he retired after 35 years of service.

Frostie was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Mary, three children; Troy (Jane) White, Kathryn (Aaron) Kain, and Michelle (Jose) Freire, all of Urbandale; seven grandchildren and his brothers, David and Michael White.

Frostie has been a loving, devoted son, husband, father and grandfather. His quiet strength has been a cornerstone for family and friends. His love for his wife, children, and grandchildren, showed every day. We were blessed to have had our time with him.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm Wednesday at Iles-Grandview Park Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
