The Life of LAVAUGHN JEANNETTE SKINNER

LaVaughn "Bonnie" Skinner peacefully passed from this life on December 9, 2014 at the Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines, Iowa.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 13, 2014 at St. Anne''s Episcopal Church, 2110 W 1st St., Ankeny, IA.  A graveside service at Highland Memory Gardens follows.

LaVaughn Jeanette "Bonnie" Taylor was born February 2, 1932 in Des Moines, Iowa to George and Martha Jane Taylor.  She was the youngest of nine children.  Bonnie graduated from East High School in 1950.  She married Ira "Ike" Skinner, Jr. in1952.  They enjoyed remodeling homes, traveling, dancing, and raising their three children.  Bonnie was a devoted mother.  She also worked as her husband''s legal secretary, as a real estate agent, and as a manager for Equitable of New York.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ike, all of her siblings, and her parents.  She is survived by her children, Greg (Connie) Skinner of Ankeny, Julie Baysden of Clive, and Scott (Lori) Skinner of Windsor Heights.  She is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
