The Life of DAVID P KLEIN

David P. Klein, 82, of Exeter Township, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 8:30 am at Penn State Health-St. Joseph Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Agnes A. (Ott) Klein. Born in Reading, Mr. Klein was the son of the late Martin H. and Anna M. (Harter) Klein. Mr. Klein was a member of Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Exeter Township and served in the United States Navy. He was employed by Atofina, Inc. in Birdsboro for 29 years as a supervisor and worked part time for several years as a delivery driver for West Reading Drug Store. Mr. Klein was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening, taking family vacations and above all loved his family. He also was an avid bowler and participated in various leagues at the former Laurel Lanes. He and his mother-in-law were on the same bowling team and that is how he met his wife Agnes. He enjoyed sharing his enthusiasm for bowling with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Scott B. Klein, fiancé of Dara Dandrea-Giannotti of New Jersey and his daughter Melissa J. Barth, wife of Michael Barth of Downingtown and his grandchildren Jadon, Colin, Benjamin, Isaac, Matthew, Savannah, Zachary, Evan and Alyssa. He is also survived by his brothers Martin L. Klein, husband of Mary Ann Klein of Reading and John L. Lorish, husband of Shari Lorish of Wyomissing Hills. Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township, Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 10:00 am. Reverend Brian M. Miller will officiate. Interment with Military Honors rendered by the United States Navy Honor Guard will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
