The Life of George Henry Kern

George H. Kern, 64, of 107 Noble St., Kutztown, custodian at the Kutztown National Guard Armory and former Ice dealer, died Tuesday afternoon in Allentown Hospital. A native of Kutztown he was the son of the late Henry and Mary [Levan] Kern and was a member of the United Church of Christ, Kutztown Aerie No. 839, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Social Club and volunteer Fire C. both of Kutztown.

Surviving are his widow, Ruth [Merkel] Kern, a son, Kenneth K., of Kutztown, two daughters, Mrs. Stewart Eberly, Fleetwood; and Mrs. Martin Yourkavitch, Kutztown; five grandchildren, two brothers, Vernie, Lancaster and Willard, Kutztown, and three sisters; Lillian, wife of Percy E. Frederic and Anna, wife of Paul Schadler, both of Kutztown, and Mary, wife of Austin C. Strohl, Reading.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Fritz and Kendall Funeral Home, Kutztown. The Rev. Robert F. Harting will officiate. Burial will be in the Hope cemetery, Kutztown.
