The Life of Louise Clay Edwards Clendenin

Louise Francis Clendenin, 98, a former resident of White Plains New York, currently of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest on November 30, 2014 at the Arden House in Hamden, Ct. She was born to the late Alex T. Clay and Mary L. Clay on October 30, 1916 in Troutville, Virginia. She married the late Lewis Edwards and is survived by her children and spouses Dorothy and Bruce Goldson, Sr. of Ansonia, Ct, and Lewis and Emmar Edwards of Bridgeport, Ct. Louise lived a quiet and productive life in Westchester County and retired from the New York United Hospital in Port Chester, New York after working over 25 years and was a devoted member of the Union Baptist Church in White Plains, NY. Later in life Louise was remarried to the late William Clendenin. She was predeceased by her six siblings, Esters Clay, William Clay, Lamey Clay, Marie Clay Taylor, Lena Clay Shepard and Elizabeth Clay Sullivan. She lovingly leaves her grandchildren, McKinley Edwards and wife Natalie from New York City and Travis Edwards of Bridgeport Ct., Bruce Goldson Jr. and wife Faye, Keith Goldson (deceased), and Terri Goldson Sr. and wife Ronja residents of Ansonia, Ct. Her memory will live on through her many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Macedonia Baptist Church, 243 Pershing Drive Ansonia, Ct. 06401. Calling hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and the Celebration of Life will begin at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are by Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, Ct.
