The Life of Joshua Ueda
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at 10:00 AM at Our Savior''s Church in Lafayette, for Joshua Ueda, 23, who died on Saturday, September 13, 2014 in California.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pastor Randy Dugas and Pastor Chris Lerma of Our Savior''s Church will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include his wife, Shanna Ueda; his parents, Leticia and Toshikazu Ueda; his sisters, Maria Bonin and her husband Roger Bonin, Jr., and Ivonne Del Rosario and her fiance Santos Baquedano; his brother, Luis Villa and his wife Ashley; his nieces and nephews, Kenneth, Kayla and Krystalynn Bonin, Jose, Jonathan, and Benjamin Perez, Nathan Del Rosario, and Alexis and Ariel Villa; his maternal grandmother, Juana Aguilar; his paternal grandparents, Toshinori and Teruko Ueda; and his in laws, Lorraine and Fred Boyden.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Antonio Garcia; his aunt, Olivia Aguilar; and his uncle, Antonio Aguilar; and a cousin, Guillermo Aguilar, Jr.
A native of El Paso, Texas and a Lafayette resident since he was seven years old, Joshua was a 2009 graduate of Lafayette High School. He attended Kaplan University in Oceanside, California. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Joshua was a semi professional Mixed Martial Arts fighter and was training at the Compound Gym in Oceanside, California. He was very athletic and an accomplished surfer, loved spending time at the beach with his dogs Tyson and Diesel, and was a motorcycle enthusiast. Joshua was a loving husband, son, brother and uncle. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Luis Villa, Kenneth Bonin, Roger Bonin, Jr., Jose Benito Perez, Guillermo Aguilar, Sr., and Ader Gonzalez.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s SOUTHSIDE location on Monday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
