The Life of Helene Rosa Pizzi

Helene R. Pizzi, 91, a resident of Chester Twp since 1952, passed away September 21, 2014 at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Hts.
She was born March 26, 1923 in Antwerp, Belgium.
Helene met her late husband Marion in 1945, during WWII, in Antwerp, Belgium. She and Marion married and came to the United States in 1946. Helen was active at the Geauga Senior Center in Chardon, including being part of the punch embroidery class. She enjoyed garage sales and window shopping.
Helene was a " Domestic Goddess'''' in Gates Mills for 48 years.
She is survived by her daughters Dale (Fred)) McGurer of Orwell and Bonnie Detzel of KY; grandchildren Tom (Justine) Detzel, Michael (April) Detzel, John (Crystal) Detzel, Kimberly (Michael) Levick, and Kelly (Paul) Ramsey; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters Julie VanDaele-Bryon and Alice VanDaele.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marion; son-in-law David Detzel; brother Jerome VanDaele; sister Paula Plateau.
Friends may call Tuesday 2 to 4p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd, Chester Twp.
Family and Friends will gather at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the funeral home, in preparation of a procession to the Chapel in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens for a 2:30 p.m. funeral service
Burial will be at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Twp.
