The Life of Violetta Behrle Castle
Violetta J. (Behrle) Castle, 89, of Ansonia, entered
into eternal rest on September 20, 2014, at St. Vincent''s Medical Center in
Bridgeport. She was the beloved wife of the late William H. Castle Sr. Mrs.
Castle was born in Ansonia on August 3, 1925, daughter of the late George and
Minnie Goldberg Behrle Sr. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, she was employed as
a sales associate at the former Montgomery Ward Department Store until she and
her husband began to raise their family. She was an avid fan of UConn, Boston
Red Sox and the New England Patriots. She is survived by a loving and devoted
daughter, Cheryl Lynn Thayer and her husband Richard of Ansonia, three
cherished grandchildren, Sarah Thayer, Stacy Thayer and Adam Thayer of Ansonia
and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons, William H. Castle
Jr. and Bryan E. Castle and brothers, George Behrle Jr. and Charles Behrle.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday September 24, 2014, from 6-8 pm in the
chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street
in Ansonia. On Thursday at 10:00 am, a funeral service in celebration of
Violetta''s life will take place in the funeral home. Interment will follow in
Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia. The family sends a heart-felt thank you to the
