The Life of Jane O'Hara

Jane Wall O’Hara, 71, of Seymour died surrounded by her family on September 3, 2014 at the CT Hospice, Branford. She was born in Derby on July 22, 1943, daughter of the late Albert J.T. and Evelyn Mallahan Wall. Ms. O’Hara was a graduate of Ansonia High School and Seymour resident most of her life. She worked as a proofreader for the SNET Yellow Pages for over 20 years. Following her retirement from SNET, she was employed as a Project Assistant with Sardoni & Skansa Architectural Firm for 5 years, retiring in 2009. Ms. O’Hara enjoyed flower gardening, interior design, making crafts, and was an avid artist of acrylic, oil and watercolor mediums. She generously volunteered her time at the St. Vincent de Paul Shop of Derby, and will be long remembered for her special love for her family. She is survived by her devoted children, Tracy Daigle and her husband Joseph of Torrington; Jeffrey S. O’Hara and his wife Maryann of Seymour; cherished granddaughters, Makayla and Caitlyn O’Hara of Seymour; sister, Edith Wilcox of Oxford; and a niece, Nancy Wilcox of MD, as well as several other family members and friends of which she held dear. Funeral services will take place on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 5:00 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Private interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
