The Life of MILDRED V GUSTAFSON
Mildred Virginia Gustafson, age 97, passed away early Thursday morning, August 28, at Johanna Shores Nursing Home in Arden Hills, MN.
Mildred was born on March 4, 1917, to Swedish immigrants, Andrew and Emily Gustafson in Des Moines, Iowa. She had one sister, Helen, and one brother who died at birth. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines and worked at Bankers Life Insurance Company in Des Moines for over forty-six years.
Mildred never married. After retirement she moved to Roseville, Minnesota, to be closer to her family whom she loved dearly and served faithfully.
Mildred''''s faith was always a key part of her life. She was a long time member of Union Park Baptist Church of Des Moines where she served in various offices and sang in the choir until she moved to Minnesota when she joined Calvary Baptist Church of Roseville.
She lived a vital and active life until having a stroke in 2006. Since that time she has lived at Johanna Shores. In her latter years and in declining health she longed to be with her Lord. We are thankful He answered her prayer.
Mildred is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She is beloved and will be missed.
