The Life of DANIEL BRADFORD STERLING

Daniel B. Sterling, 84, was born July 3, 1930, in Des Moines, the son of Bradford and Hazel Sterling. He passed away at Mercy Medical Center on August 16, 2014.

Daniel retired as a revenue agent for the Iowa Department of Revenue. In addition, he spent over 20 years as an enumerator for the USDA. Daniel enjoyed hunting, walking, golf and his dogs. He was a member of the NRA, American Legion and Oakwood United Methodist Church.

Daniel had a sense of humor and liked socializing with his friends and having fun. Above all, he loved his family and would do anything for them.

Daniel is survived by his sister, Jean Faupel; daughter, Donna “Didi” Loynachan (Matthew); son, Bradford “Brad” Sterling; former wife and friend, Jean Kitzmiller; granddaughters, Jennifer “Jenni” Liston and Shannan Belden; six great-grandchildren, Anakin Liston, Bethany, Christian, Caitlin, Caleb and Wyatt Belden; and many, many friends.

The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Services will follow at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Ave., Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League in loving memory of Daniel.
