The Life of John W Duchanois
CLEVELAND - John William DuChanois, 67, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland.
He was born Jan. 26, 1947, in Salem, N.J., to the late William R. and Lucille L. (Weddle) DuChanois.
John was a graduate of South High School and he went on to serve in the U.S. Navy.
On April 8, 1967, John married the love of his life, Suzanne DuChanois, and they spent 43 years together before Suzanne’s passing in 2010.
John worked for General Motors and retired after 35 years. He will be remembered for his tinkering, tending to his fruit trees, and his passion for fishing, especially for perch on Lake Erie. John also loved spending time with his grandson, Colin, and sharing laughter and fellowship with his numerous friends whom he fondly referred to as his “crew.”
Left to mourn John’s passing, are his daughters, Sheri L. DuChanois-Smith and Aimee DuChanois; his grandson, Colin John Smith; his sister, Sue DuChanois; and his brothers, William (Holly) DuChanois and Daniel (Melody) DuChanois.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Suzanne (Lallo) DuChanois; and his sister, Sharon Aulisio.
The family will receive friends today, Friday, July 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m.
Interment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
