The Life of JOHNNIE CHARLES EVANS

In loving memory of Johnnie Charles Evans.

Johnnie passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 16, 2012. He was born on June 4, 1940, in Rome, Georgia, to Charles and Delilah Evans.

Johnnie spent 21 years in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany twice, also at the Pentagon, the Walter Reed Army Medical Staff and at Fort Lewis, WA. He served on the White House staff during the Nixon administration.

Johnnie is survived by his wife, Rosalie; their children, Kathy Jessee of Kentucky, Jessica Stanley, Lorey (William) Broughton, Kimberly (James) Stewart, Racquel (John Downing) Weir, James (Shannon) Reeves, and Shawn, all of Des Moines; 20 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Madeline; his children, Charles Mester and Rose Marie Henson; and grandson, Charles Reeves.

Private services will be held by his family.
