The Life of LINDA L HESS
Linda Hess, 70, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center. Linda was born December 27, 1943, in Des Moines, the daugther of Arthur and Mabel Denny.
Linda graduated from Saydel High School. Fence Masters of Iowa was owned and operated by Linda and her husband, Virgil from 1973-1999. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. Linda enjoyed camping, fishing, auctions, garage sales, playing the piano, going out to eat and shopping. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Linda is survived by step-daugthers, Teri Berglund, Kathy Miller and Jody (Larry) Johnson; grandchildren, Chad Berglund, Amber (Mike) Medici, Todd (Jonnell) Miller, Nathan (Denise) Miller, Mathew, Ashley and Cody Johnson; nine great-grandchildren; nephews, Jeff (Judy), Brian (Cheryl), and Mike Keeling; her beloved pet, Sophie; and a host of other family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil Hess in 2010; son-in-law, Larry Miller; sister, Barb Keeling; and brother-in-law, Darrell Keeling.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Hope Lutheran Church, 3857 E. 42nd Street, Des Moines. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A private burial of cremated remains will be held at a later date at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Lutheran Church, 3857 E. 42nd Street, Des Moines, or the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, 5452 NE 22nd St., Des Moines, in loving memory of Linda.
