The Life of YVONNE ELIZABETH VICTORIA
Yvonne Elizabeth (Stiles) Victoria was born September 1, 1929 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of C. Dale Stiles and Marjorie (Buck) Stiles. She married Edwin Victoria and worked as a supervisor for the Department of Transportation. Yvonne was an active member of St. Aidan’s Anglican Church. She volunteered at Mercy Hospital in their gift shop and served on the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling, taking many cruises and bus tours. She was a member of P.E.O., A.B.W.A., and enjoyed animals, especially her dachshund.
Yvonne passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston at the age of 84. She is survived by her son, Michael McGill; nephew, Clinton (Sheri) Victoria; niece, Jacque (Chuck) Comstock; nephew, Doug Victoria; niece, Marlene (Don) Witcombe; and many other extended family members. Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 27, at St. Aidan’s Anglican Church, 4911 Meredith Drive, Des Moines with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Aidan’s, Animal Rescue League, or Mercy Hospice in Johnston in Yvonne’s memory.
