The Life of Clifton Bernard Vidrine

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at St. Genevieve Catholic Church for Clifton B. Vidrine, 78, who passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at 4:05 pm at his residence.
Reverend Brian Taylor Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church will be Celebrant of the Mass.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Clifton, a resident of Lafayette, LA was the son of the late Dewey Vidrine and the former Mary Reed.
Clifton graduated from Fenton High School then enlisted in the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War. He was a member of St. Genevieve Catholic Church and a member of the Carmelite Guild. He was a loving devoted husband father grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed. He enjoyed camping, watching the New Orleans Saints and was an avid fan of the ULL Ragin Cajuns and LSU Tigers.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty eight years Anna Belle Landry Vidrine; his children, Donna A. Pitre and husband Austin "Ray", Mary A. Vidrine, Brian Keith Vidrine and wife Jan, Charles K. Vidrine; his twelve grandchildren, Sean Pitre, Lauren C. Pitre, Aveia Pitre, Amy Monceaux, Kalyn LeJeune, Alise Hebert, Erin Hebert, Gage Mayers, Brianne Hendrick, Brian Jacob Vidrine, Brittney Thibodeaux and Brent Vidrine; his fifteen great grandchildren; his sisters, Madelyn Whipple, Linda Songy and Leta LeFranc; his brother, Dewey "Stephen" Vidrine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Robert Gene Vidrine and Alfred "Benny" Vidrine.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand Drive on Tuesday, May 13,2014 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Tuesday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Wednesday from 8:00 am until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be Brian K. Vidrine, Charles K. Vidrine, Sean Pitre, Brian Jacob Vidrine, Gage M. Mayers and Ray Pitre. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dewey Stephen Vidrine, Raymond, Richard and Howard Landry.
The Vidrine family would like to thank the staffs of Amedisys Hospice, Council on Aging of Lafayette, and Home Instead.
