The Life of PEARL EMMA DUDLEY

Pearl Emma (Barber) Dudley was born in Numa, IA on September 29, 1920 to Edgar Leo and Esther (Burk) Barber.  She was one of eight children.  Pearl married Phillip F. Dudley on February 20, 1938 to which four children were born:  Phyllis Williams of Indianola, Larry Dudley of Corydon, Linda (Jim) Peek of Clio, and Harold Dudley (Deceased).

In 1942, she and Phillip moved to Des Moines and lived there until his retirement in 1983.  They belonged to the Grandview Park Baptist Church in Des Moines, and upon moving to Clio in 1983, moved their membership to Calvary Baptist Church in Leon, IA.  Pearl and Phillip were good Christian people and lived their lives that way.

In 2012, due to failing health, she moved into Corydon Nursing and Rehab where she spent her final days reading her Bible and visiting with many family and friends.  Pearl died there on March 31, 2014.

Surviving Pearl are her brother, Max (Matilda) Barber; sister, Betty (Billie) Moorman; children, Phyllis Williams, Larry Dudley, and Linda (Jim) Peek; 12 of 13 grandchildren; multiple great and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and friends.  There was a special bond between Pearl and granddaughter Patricia Stark.

Preceding here in death were her parents; spouse, Phillip; son, Harold; granddaughter, Connie (Peek) Stark; sister, Violet Ballard, Glendoris Waddle, Rosa Richardson, and Daisy Felts; and one brother, Rex Barber.

Memorials may be given to Calvary Baptist Church of Leon.
