Elly Sadek, 89, was born September 13, 1924, in Breslau, Germany. She passed away March 31, 2014, at Bishop Drumm in Des Moines.
Elly and her husband George moved to Des Moines in 1956. She was a seamstress at Sears for 28 years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, planting flowers, and dancing with her friends at the Polka Club of Iowa.
Elly is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, George; daughter, Irene Khan; grandchildren, Nicholas and Natasha; three great grandchildren; and three sisters of Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m., at the funeral home.
