Nora Leverich, 93, passed away, March 15, 2014 at Hospice Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 19 at Burns United Methodist Church, 1909 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., in Des Moines. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Nora was born September 27, 1920 in Sciotoville, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Ellen Cleveland Kronk. She was united in marriage to Jasper A. Leverich on August 6, 1937 in Albia, Iowa. Nora lived in Des Moines and Norwalk, prior to moving to The Village at Legacy Pointe in Waukee in 2008.

Nora worked as a proof reader for Principal Financial Group, she retired in 1982. Nora was lovingly known as "Mom" and "Grandma" to many of the refugee families that she worked with. She was a member of Gatchel United Methodist Church.

Nora is survived by her children: Jasper "Al" (Vicky) Leverich, James (Connie) Leverich, Nancy Quick and Nolla (Tim) Praim; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Kenneth and Earl Kronk. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; two sisters and her husband, Jasper.
