The Life of Elizabeth Smith Hudson

 Elizabeth Hudson, age 73, of Derby, wife of the late Reginald Hudson, died suddenly on February 27, 2014 at Griffin Hospital. Born in Honesdale, PA on July 30, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Howard Dewitt Smith. Mrs. Hudson was a long time resident of Norwalk before moving to Derby 8 years ago. She enjoyed being a "Nanny" and her well earned nickname "Nana" as she was referred to by all. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for the entire family. She is survived by her devoted children, Pamela Ross (Chris) of Ansonia, Deborah Banks of CO, Susan Hudson of Derby, Michael Patenaude of Woodstock and James Patenaude of Norwalk; brothers, Richard (Kay) Smith of Stratford and John Smith of PA; eight cherished grandchildren; and three cherished great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Robert Smith and a granddaughter, Krystal Hudson. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
